Three Models, 675 Downloads
In October 2021 I published three SketchUp models to 3D Warehouse, free for anyone to use — a folding glazed balcony window, a modular TV unit and a dining table. They have since been downloaded 675 times and viewed more than 1,600, and the downloads are still coming in.

Coming off the retrofit in late 2021, I was modelling constantly — design studies for the family house, and freelance interior work for Homelane.
SketchUp's 3D Warehouse is the public library designers pull ready-made components from when they build their own models. In October 2021 I published three of mine there, free to download.

Folding glazed balcony window. A metal-framed folding window, specified rather than just drawn: a glazing U-value of 1.0 W/m²K and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.30, so it keeps the sun's heat out as well as letting the light in — the spec a hot climate actually needs.
Modular TV unit. A tall glass-fronted cabinet and a family of drawer boxes that can be arranged however a room needs. Solid meranti wood, clear toughened glass, stainless steel handles, and telescopic channels for the drawers.
Dining table with metal base. A modern dining table — a timber top on a slim metal base, designed for aesthetics and comfort.

| Stage | downloads |
|---|---|
| Folding glazed balcony window | 482 |
| Modular TV unit | 104 |
| Dining table with metal base | 89 |

675 downloads and more than 1,600 views. The balcony window is the clear favourite at 482 downloads — more than the other two combined.
The part I like most is the download history. After the first spike when the models went live, the downloads have kept coming steadily ever since. Years later, people are still finding these models and building them into their own work.
